NFHS track and field athletes participated in the Marvin Ridge Invitational over the weekend and left a lasting impression on the crowed with the sweep of the hurdle races. Junior’s Gevontae Hardy and Brandon Gambrell split the hurdle events with wins in the 110m high hurdles and 300m low hurdle races on a very windy day. Hardy began the sweep by winning the 110m hurdles in 15.7 seconds. He not only walked away with the gold medal, he was also awarded the “Eric Streeter Award along with Parkland’s Ebony Williams for the outstanding hurdlers male/female. Brandon Gambrell probably had his best day ever as a hurdler.
