NORMAN TRZASKOMA INVITATIONAL 2012 (City-County XC Championships)

As they crossed the finish line, each of the eight varsity girls of the North Forsyth HS 2012 Cross-Country Team were proud to have been part of what is proving to be a revival of sorts for the once prominent team.  It has been over 5 years since NF has been able to produce any points at a major cross-country event.  Thanks to Coach Victor Lopez numbers are up and the team seems to be poised for a comeback.  For those 8 young athletes;  Jasmine, Codi, Natiesha, Breyah, Brandi, Erika, Brenda and Misty their relief of finishing strong were a product of a myriad of feelings; joy, fatigue, and exhilaration knowing that they had made a statement that NF cross-country was back.

Nevertheless; the pervasive disappointment of finishing seventh out of  ten schools overall will undoubtedly postpone serious consideration about short term plans for a conference championship this year.  But the team’s bona fide commitment to continued hard work and maturity as athletes, make them an authentic candidate for a title within a year based on their times and predicted improvement over the next year.
